On 21.12, we celebrated another mystical holiday of the Wheel of the Year – Yule.

Guests were treated to Scandinavian hot alcoholic drinks and goodies from the kitchen, surprised by a festive fire show; together we performed a ritual to make a wish come true and also met the evil Krampus!!

The next Imbolg holiday is on February 1! Therefore, mark it in your calendar that this day we meet at “Kattegat” on Shota Rustaveli, 15!

📜 What is Yole?
Yol is the Celtic New Year! It begins on the day of the winter solstice (21.12) and lasts for 13 nights, known as the “Nights of Spirits”. On the day of the solstice, the spirits become the masters: at night, a “Yol’s bonfire” is lit and sincere promises are made. It is believed that on this night it is better not to be alone, because a person finds himself with the dead and the spirits of the afterlife. Yule is also a time of great feasting and celebration, when clans gather to welcome back the Sun that has risen from darkness.

📜 Who is Krampus?
He is the complete opposite of Santa. Before Christmas (and even earlier – during Yule), he kidnapped misbehaving children and also seduced women. This is a real New Year’s demon, and looks to match: long horns and hooves, dark hairy fur, a frighteningly pointed tongue and a chain with a large bell. On the eve of Christmas, Austrian children left their shoes on the window: good children received gifts from Santa, and disobedient ones – from Krampus 🫣
